Simone Borrelli Story
Award-winning Italian actor, director, singer-songwriter, musician, screenwriter, and record producer. Simone Borrelli began his artistic training at the Teatro Stabile di Calabria under Geppy Gleijeses and Alvaro Piccardi, debuting as an actor at age 16. He graduated from the prestigious "Alessandra Galante Garrone" Drama School in Bologna, winning the Giusto Monaco Award in 2004. He subsequently perfected his cinematic craft in the United States at the Actor's Studio. He has worked across Cinema, Theatre, and Television with distinguished directors such as Gabriele Salvatores, Guido Chiesa, Gianpaolo Tescari, Lucio Gaudino, Carmine Elia, Vittorio Franceschi, Giovanni Pampiglione, Marina Malfatti, Lindsay Kemp, Eimuntas Nekrošius, Nicolaj Karpov, Susan Batson, Marilyn Fried, Steven Berkoff, and Pierre Byland. His leading television credits include Emergency Treatment, Quo vadis, baby? directed by Academy Award winner Gabriele Salvatores and Guido Chiesa for Sky Cinema, and season two of Anna and the 5 (Stripper Nanny) alongside Sabrina Ferilli. In 2010, he co-starred with Treat Williams in Martino's Summer, presented in competition at the Rome Film Festival. He is also widely celebrated for his role as Mario in the hit sitcom Camera Café. A featured guest on major RAI, Sky, and Mediaset broadcasts (such as Trebisonda, Scalo 76, and Top of the Pops), since 2011 he has worked as a screenwriter and director, penning Venerdì Sera and earning recognition at the Premio Solinas. In 2014, he wrote, directed, and starred in Eddy, an international film fighting violence against minors. The masterpiece marks the first documented case in world cinema history of a single artist simultaneously fulfilling 8 primary creative roles (director, screenwriter, lead actor, composer, arranger, instrumentalist, lyricist, and lead singer). Named Official Human Rights Film 2015 by the Council of Europe, it received high patronage from the Italian Presidency of the Council of Ministers, MIUR, UNICEF, Amnesty International, and the Italian Red Cross.
